Information We Collect

When you sign up for Homeify, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely via Supabase Auth). You may optionally provide family member names, avatar preferences, and other profile information.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide and improve the Homeify service — displaying your family's calendar, board, chores, and other features. We never sell your data to third parties.

Data Storage

All data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted on AWS. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. When data is deleted, it may persist in encrypted database backups for a limited period (typically up to 7 days) before being permanently erased.

Cookies and Local Storage

Homeify uses only strictly necessary storage — no advertising or tracking cookies:

• Session cookie - a signed, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in
• Trail cookies - two cookies that remember the page you came from, powering the back-navigation links
• Local storage - an optional "remember this device" token (if you stay signed in on the installed app) and your dashboard layout preferences

Because these are strictly necessary for the service to function, no consent banner is shown.

Third-Party Services

Homeify uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase - Authentication and database hosting
• Stripe - Payment processing (Pro subscriptions)
• Vercel - Application hosting
• Resend - Transactional email (welcome and billing emails)
• Open-Meteo - Weather data (free, no API key required)
• Google Calendar API - Optional two-way calendar sync (see below)

Calendar Integrations (Google Calendar)

If you choose to connect a Google Calendar, Homeify uses the Google Calendar API with two scopes:

• calendar.events - creating, editing, and deleting calendar events you make in Homeify, and reading events you choose to sync into the shared family calendar
• calendar.readonly - listing your calendar names so you can choose which calendars sync and which calendar receives events created in Homeify

Calendar data is used solely to sync between your Google Calendar and the family calendar. It is never sold or shared with third parties, and it is permanently deleted when you disconnect the integration or delete your account. Connection tokens are stored in your family's own database and are only ever sent to Google's servers.

Homeify's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your Rights

Data export (portability). You can download a machine-readable (JSON) copy of everything your family has stored in Homeify at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data.

Deletion (erasure). The family owner can delete the account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data — no need to contact us. Deletion is immediate and permanent: every member profile and all shared content is erased, your Stripe subscription is cancelled and your Stripe customer record deleted, and linked Google calendar access is revoked. Family members other than the owner can be removed individually by the owner under Settings → Family Members.
